BUTTE, Alaska—
Palmer Police dispatch says a brush fire in the Butte area is under control as of 12:00 a.m. Monday, but would not give any more details.
Butte Fire Service crews responded to an active brush fire in the Butte area down Maud Road, Sunday evening.
Palmer Deputy Fire Chief Bruce Axtell told Channel 2 the fire was slowly spreading about half a mile up on Lazy Mountain, Sunday evening.
Axtell said the Division of Forestry launched a helicopter to help fight the blaze.
