Anchorage firefighters rushed to a condo complex in the Muldoon area Friday night.

A fire broke out around 8:15 p.m. in a six-plex at 8508 Boundary Avenue, in the Alpine Village Condos.

The blaze started in one of the upstairs units and residents of nearby buildings said heavy smoke was seen coming from the roof until firefighters knocked down the flames.

The fire department is still investigating the cause, but a member of the condo association board said it started in the kitchen of a unit where the renters were evicted Friday.

No one was hurt, and there was no word Friday night on the extent of the damage.
