FAIRBANKS, Alaska—
University of Alaska Fairbanks officials say a free firewood workshop set to take place on campus over the weekend will be open to the public.
The workshop is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Schaible Auditorium.
Officials say topics to be covered at the workshop include wood stove maintenance, chainsaw safety, the properties of various woods and where to get firewood.
The workshop is being hosted by the UAF Cooperative Extension Service and the Yukon River chapter of the Society of American Foresters.
