Prosecutors have reached a plea deal with an Anchorage woman charged with fatally striking a man with her sport utility vehicle and driving away.

The Anchorage Daily News (http://bit.ly/T2Iv11) reports 20-year-old Ashley Bashore will plead guilty to criminally negligent homicide and failing to help an injured person and serve a year in jail under terms of the deal.

A judge will have to accept the terms.

Bashore is suspected of striking 28-year-old Hubert Tunuchuk (TUN'-oo-chuk) on Easter morning in 2011 as he walked on a bridge over the Seward Highway at Tudor Road. Tunuchuk was from the village of Chefornak (shuh-FOR'-nak) and was in Anchorage to study power plant operations

Prosecutors say Bashore was sending text messages before the crash.

She is scheduled for sentencing Monday
