JUNEAU, Alaska—
The recount for House District 34 took place in Juneau Monday morning, determining Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins as the winner.
Kreiss-Tomkins defeated Republican incumbent Bill Thomas by 32 votes, according to Division of Elections Director Gail Fenumiai.
On November 23, Fenumiai certified the election with first-time candidate Kreiss-Tomkins ahead by 34 votes. Thomas, a four-term incumbent, requested the recount.
The final totals were 4,130 votes for Kreiss-Tomkins and 4,098 votes for Thomas.
