ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
A Saturday fundraiser at Kaladi Brothers Coffee brought in big bucks for area kids and local charities.For over a decade, Kaladi Brothers has donated it's New Year’s Day profits to local charities. This year, the chain raised just over $11,600. The money will be divided among Stitches of Love, Kids Kitchen and the Juvenile Diabeties Research Foundation.
On Jan. 1, Kaladi employees donate their time and customers come just to make sure their coffee for the day counts for something extra.
A Kaladi spokesperson says the event is a great way to start the new year.
