It could soon cost you $1 per day to park at Ketchikan International Airport's town side parking lot.
The Ketchikan Daily News reports airport Director Mike Carney says it's currently free to park on the Revillagigedo Island side as people travel to the airport on Gravina Island.
But he says there's a need for lot improvements, funds and finding a way to keep people from parking there who are not using the airport.
The new system will use pay stations that accept credit cards only. A traveler can pay for the number of days they are expected to be away.
If the trip goes longer, the traveler can extend time on the parking spot by phone.
The Ketchikan Gateway Borough needs to sign off on the plan yet.
