A 52-year-old Kodiak man is accused of switching Alaska vehicle plates.

The Kodiak Daily Mirrorsays Christopher Bowen faces charges including felony counts of concealing a vehicle's identity.

According to court documents, Kodiak police were recently notified Bowen's green Ford pickup had plates that did not match the vehicle.

The documents say Bowen told police he bought the truck several months ago with those plates and had not registered it.

Bowen reportedly was involved in a December accident with a woman alleging his silver truck rammed her vehicle. Authorities say photos of that truck show the same plate found on the green truck.

Court documents say the green truck's VIN number showed a different plate while the silver truck's VIN number shows it was last registered in Washington state.
