The late Executive Director of Bean's Cafe, Jim Crockett, passed away last Thursday. Family and friends of Crockett gathered at Anchorage City Church to remember the generous man.

Crockett, aside from being the Executive Director of Bean's Cafe for 11 years, was involved in many other community organizations, like the Brother Francis Shelter. His undying desire to give to those in need reached out to the hungry children of Alaska through The Children's Lunchbox.

Crockett's life was celebrated by a grateful, yet grieving community. Friends and family will always remember his selfless devotion.

"I think that everybody Jim met made quite an impact of them," said Victor Hett, a friend of Crockett, "He was a rare individual. I wish we had more like him around."

Crockett is survived by his brother, his two adult children, and his three grandchildren.

His family has requested that memorial donations be made out to the soup kitchen, Bean's Cafe.
