An accident at a logging camp near Nutkwa Lagoon on the Prince of Wales Island killed a man Saturday morning, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Billy Worley, 36, was underneath a logging cradle at the timber sorting yard when a 70-foot log, 16 inches in diameter, fell on top of the cradle.

Worley, of Klawock, was pronounced dead immediately.

Worley's body was transported to the State Medical Examiner Office, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified of the incident.

Troopers say there is no foul play suspected and alcohol did not seem to be a factor in the incident.
