ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
A 29-year-old Metlakatla man has been charged with first degree murder in the death of a 67-year-old woman.Alaska State Troopers say William Buxton was taken into custody Saturday in connection with the death of Leona Meely of Metlakatla.
Troopers say they were notified Saturday morning of a suspicious death in the Annette Island community in southeast Alaska.
Troopers say Meely died in a physical altercation that took place at a home where Buxton also lives.
Meely's body is being sent to the state medical examiner's office in Anchorage for an autopsy.
Troopers say the investigation is continuing.
