The families of three missing National Park service workers have increased the reward from $15,000 to $65,000 for information about a plane that disappeared in southwest Alaska last month.

Authorities say 47-year-old Marco Alletto of King Salmon was flying the plane with 26-year-old Mason McLeod of Jacksonville Florida, 28-year-old Neal Spradlin and his 20-year-old brother Seth on board.

The father of one of the missing passengers says the families are offering the reward because they haven't given up hope.

“He is our only son and there is no way we can give up until we have something definitive. We just can’t leave without having word one way or the other of what happened,” said Steve McLeod.

Searchers have been looking for the float plane since it went missing during a short flight on August 21.
