Anchorage police say a motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon in a collision at a busy South Anchorage intersection.
APD says 33-year-old Michelle Iloilo of Anchorage was killed at the intersection of Jewel Lake Road and Dimond Boulevard when she collided with a sedan at 3:10 p.m. Sunday.
According to APD Sgt. Michael Kerle, Iloilo was riding a Ducati motorcycle east on Dimond when a Toyota Corolla heading west, driven by 81-year-old Antonette McCamant of Anchorage, turned on a green light but failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Kerle said the driver of the sedan turned in front of the motorcyclist and they collided.
Officials say Iloilo was ejected from the motorcycle and transported to Providence Alaska Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating the collision and say it is unknown at this point if any citation will be issued. Investigators ask anyone who witnessed the crash or have additional information to call APD at 786-8900.
