ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
The Mountain View Library branch officially opened Tuesday.The original library closed in 1988 due to budget cuts, but the community has been working to restore a library in the neighborhood ever since.
The new 10,000 square foot building features a multi-language collection of books, media, and magazines, as well as a mobile computer lab, and community room.
The new branch is located at 120 Bragaw Street and is open on Tuesday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 6:00 p.m.
It is closed on Sunday and Monday.
A grand opening celebration will be held on Saturday, September 25.
