Already ahead of the 2013 Regular Municipal Election, the Municipality of Anchorage is recruiting new election workers and encourages those who have not considered this opportunity before to give it a try.

Each year, the Municipality hires nearly 600 workers for the 120 polling places on Election Day, but it hopes to recruit additional workers this year so that it can continue to produce timely and accurate Election Results.

The Municipality says working at an Election is a great way to be involved with and connect to the Anchorage community.

Election workers must be a registered voter in Anchorage and they must be able to remain non-partisan while working. Each worker will have to attend a three-hour traning session and should have some experience following job instructions and organizing and processing paperwork. The position pays $9.50 per hour, workers will be paid for both the hours they work on Election Day and during the training.

Workers will be needed on April 2, 2013 throughout the entire Municipality of Anchorage from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
