Two men were rescued and a third is still missing and presumed drowned after a boat flipped in Seward's Resurrection Bay on Friday night.

The Seward Fire Department and the Coast Guard searched the bay after the Seward Police dispatch received reports of people yelling near the Seward Marine Industrial Center. Rescue crews discovered three men were in the water. Two of them were rescued by Coast Guard and fire department boats, and received medical treatment. Seward fire chief David Squire says the extent of their injuries is unknown.

The Coast Guard continued the search for the third man but did not find him.

"They said that they had a wave come over their bow, which turned their boat sideways and rolled them. They were dumped into the water," says Squire.

The Coast Guard resumed the search Saturday morning. They suspended the search just after 9 a.m. Names of the three people involved have not been released.
