Late Friday evening, just before midnight, Anchorage Police responded to the scene of a pedestrian versus vehicle collision that took the life of 53-year-old Jill Lebert of Juneau.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m., Police responded to the area of Tudor Road and Wright Street. According to witnesses, the pedestrian was crossing Tudor Road when she was struck by a 1998 Pontiac minivan headed west, being driven by 28-year-old Crystal Lockuk of Anchorage.
Westbound traffic was blocked for about two hours while investigators processed the scene.
The victim suffered major head trauma and other lacerations on her body. She was transported to a local hospital where she died a short time after from injuries she sustained in the collision.
Police say that at this time no citations have been issued and the investigation into the collision continues.
