Anchorage police say Fairbanks woman Mary Anne Alexie is believed to have been intoxicated and looking for shelter in the Spenard area before she was reported missing in October. Investigators need help from Spenard residents to find the missing mother of four.

APD wants homeowners to search their sheds, especially if they live in Spenard, between either Jewel Lake Road and Minnesota Drive or Wisconsin Street and Northern Lights Boulevard.

“We know she was quite intoxicated that night, we know she was seeking shelter,” said APD detective Sgt. Slav Markiewicz.

Alexie came to Anchorage Oct. 9 to go to Alaska Career College, but the last time anyone heard from her was about 4 a.m. on Oct. 10. Police say she called several people that morning saying she was lost.

Two other women were found dead outside in October including Michelle Felber, 24, whose body was found Oct. 10 in a wooded lot just north of Dowling Road, near its intersection with Quinhagak Street. Before her body was discovered, police say, Felber’s family hadn’t seen her for at least two months; APD is still awaiting autopsy results on her body.

An investigation will continue in the death of 62-year-old Marie Andrews, whose body was discovered a day after Felber's next to a fence south of Mountain View Drive. Markiewicz says the autopsy results on her death are undetermined.
