Anchorage police want to speak with people who have had work on their homes done by Keyes Construction, a contracting firm owned by a person of interest arrested earlier this week in connection with the Feb. 1 abduction of barista Samantha Koenig.
The company, which has built decks and done other work in Southcentral Alaska, is owned by Israel Keyes -- the man who was arrested Tuesday in Texas as part of a joint investigation by Texas authorities, APD and the FBI.
“What police are looking for now is people to come forward who may have had involvement with him and his business, Keyes Construction -- possibly if they had given him keys or if he had access to their residents.” said APD spokesperson Anita Shell.
Police say there may have been evidence left behind inside some of these homes.
In addition, two APD detectives will be staying in Texas for the next few days, serving search warrants in the Koenig case. The detectives arrived in Texas earlier this week, shortly before Keyes' arrest.
APD wouldn’t say Friday how many warrants are being served, or to whom.
In other Friday developments in the case, officials with a U.S. Attorney's office in Texas said that Keyes will be flown back to Alaska, after he agreed to waive detention or bail hearings until his return.
