Anchorage police say recovery efforts continue for a pickup truck that drove into 50 feet of water at the Port of Anchorage Monday night, killing its driver.
APD and Doyon Universal Services identified the driver Tuesday as Joseph Renteria, 42, an employee of DUS's Security Division, which provides security for the port. Renteria, an employee with Doyon since November, has been assigned to port security for the last month.
DUS President Bob Kean described Renteria as a highly decorated Army veteran.
Emergency crews responded to a dock at the port after the truck drove into the water at about 7:20 p.m.
An investigation of the incident is in progress.
