Update: Classes are back in session for the Anchorage School District and University of Alaska Anchorage for Thursday, September 6, according to spokespersons who confirmed with KTUU Channel 2 news.
ASD said Chester Valley Elementary School will operate under a delayed start and will begin at 11 a.m.
All other ASD schools are open and operating a normal schedule.
"We know that some families are still without power. It is up to each family to decide what is best for them and whether their child can attend school." Heidi Embley, ASD spokesperson said. "Please call your child's school to let the office know if you choose to keep your child home."
Grace Christian School confirmed that its school is closed Thursday, Sept. 6.

University of Alaska/Anchorage: a spokesperson says university officials plan on deciding by 5:00 a.m. about whether classes will resume Thursday at UAA.
Power outages forced the cancellation of classes Wednesday at ASD schools and on the UAA campus.
