U.S. Senator Mark Begich (D-Alaska) recently returned from a trip to Afghanistan. Begich is a member of both the Armed Services Committee and Veterans Affairs Committee.
According to a press release, Begich spent several days visiting Kabul, Camp Bastion in the Hemland Province of Afghanistan and Kandahar.
During the trip he met with military leaders and Alaska-based soldiers from Fort Wainwright's 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division Stryker Combat Team.
