Police with the University of Alaska Anchorage said that a 15 year-old boy made threatening comments to the school on a blog late Saturday.

UAA Police Chief Rick Shell said the blogger posted that "he was out of work, had student loans and was disgruntled." Then he made threats to himself and the school, said Shell.

Local law enforcement received calls from people across the country who had seen the blog post. Shell said the FBI and Alaska State Troopers tracked down who was behind the post and discovered it was the teenage son of a former UAA student.

In a UAA email alert sent out to students on Sunday, the university described how the blogger claimed he wanted to cause a problem on the blog board to see if anyone would respond.

The U.S. Attorney declined to charge the minor but Shell said the investigation is ongoing.
