A 29-year-old Wasilla man is in custody at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility after a high-speed attempt to outrun Alaska State Troopers.

Harley Ron Debeaulieau is charged with assault on a police officer, felony eluding, felony driving under the influence, reckless driving, and driving with a restricted license.

He's also charged with a probation violation for a previous conviction of felony driving under the influence.

Troopers say officers attempted to stop a car Wednesday night on the Parks Highway and clocked it speeding away at 95 miles per hour.

The car turned onto Old Matanuska Road and nearly struck a trooper attempting to lay down spike strips.

The car turned onto another road into a power line, where it became stuck in the mud.

Troopers say Debeaulieau was arrested trying to run away.
