Nearly two weeks before the actual Labor Day weekend, Alaska State Troopers said enhanced DUI enforcement has started on Friday and are encouraging people to practice safe driving behaviors.
AST said Alaska Wildlife Troopers will focus on people out hunting or fishing.
Troopers say drivers should move over emergency vehicles during traffic stops and drivers should pull over when five or more vehicles are behind them while driver under the posted speed limit.
Overtime patrols will be conducted to keep traffic moving.
The enhanced enforcement takes place August 17 to September 3.
