On Friday afternoon, an Anchorage man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for killing his wife to protect a fraud scheme.
William “Mike” Dixiano was sentenced to 20 years for second degree murder and 3 years for fraud to be served concurrently after he changed his plea earlier this spring.
William “Mike” Dixiano was accused of killing his wife Angela Dixiano after she disappeared in 2010. The investigation uncovered that he killed her when she threatened to reveal that he was stealing thousands of dollars from a man who was receiving payouts from a trust.
In May 2012, her body was recovered near Mile 86 of the Glenn Highway after Mike Dixiano struck a deal with prosecutors.
He revealed where his wife’s remains were located in exchange of dropping his first-degree murder charge.
