ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
A woman was found dead in a midtown grocery store parking lot early on Wednesday morning, according to the Anchorage Police Department.
APD officers say they responded to a report at 6:42 am of a woman not breathing in the south parking lot of the Carrs Grocery Store located at 600 East Northern Lights Boulevard in the Sears Mall complex.
The boyfriend of the victim, identified as Richard Robinson, called the police. He told police that he and the victim, Lena Theresa Joseph, 44, had been sleeping under a container trailer in the parking lot, according to police, when he awoke to find Joseph not breathing and called 911.
Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary autopsy showed no signs of foul play.
