A family tradition rooted in Alaska has returned for another Christmas season, as one of the last outdoor Christmas tree lots sells the prized conifers.

Minnesota Bob's Christmas tree farm has been bringing their hand grown trees from the North Star state to the last frontier for more than 50 years.

Minnesota Bob's son, Dave, now largely runs the operation which remains small.

He says every tree was hand trimmed over the years, and cut down by either him or his father.

“This should be our busiest weekend, last weekend was busy and then this is kind of busy week,” Dave Smith, Minnesota Bob’s son, said. “It's a long season this year and we're going to be up here almost 5 weeks you know.”

The Minnesota Bob tree lot is located at 1920 West Dimond and will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day until Dec. 21.
