Update: Miriam Osredkar, a reported overdue musher, arrived safely at Happy Trails Kennel at 1:37 p.m. Sunday, according to Northern Lights 300 race organizers.
Orginal: A musher competing in a 300-mile sled dog race in Alaska is hours overdue from the time she was expected at the finish line.
Managers of the Northern Lights 300 say Miriam Osredkar was expected to arrive at the Big Lake finish line about 8 a.m. Sunday.
But the musher, who had been nauseated and vomiting, never showed up. Race manager Sue Allen says other mushers who had left the Yentna checkpoint after Osredkar have arrived at Big Lake, but never saw the overdue musher or her 11 dogs on the trail.
Allen says temperatures in the area are about 25 below zero.
Editor's Note: Corrects number of dogs to 11, instead of 12.
