The Salvation Army is collecting toys and food for its annual ‘Neighborhood Gift’ program.
The program provides food and one present for each child in a family.
Last year the Salvation Army provided toys for more than 12,000 children and this year they expect the number to be around 13,500.
The Salvation Army needs donations, especially for babies and children 10 to 14 years old.
“We know there are families in our community that struggle to put food on their table, or they struggle to keep gas in the gas tank, so we think this is important to them to be able to provide something for their children,” said Jenni Ragland with the Salvation Army said.
For donations sites you can call the Salvation Army at 907-276-2515.
You can donate non-perishable food items at any Fred Meyer, in the food barrels located in the stores.
