According to a Thursday AST dispatch, 21-year-old Enrique Lino of Las Cruces, N.M., was awaiting a flight from Anchorage to Cordova when he was contacted by investigators with AST’s Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team.
“During the contact investigators informed Lino that he was being detained pending the application for a search warrant,” troopers wrote. “Lino attempted to run from investigators and then proceeded to resist officers as he was detained.”
After obtaining a search warrant for Lino and his luggage, investigators found about 2 ounces of black tar heroin and an additional 1.5 ounces of methamphetamines.
Troopers estimate the Anchorage street values of the drugs at $29,000 for the heroin and $10,000 for the methamphetamines, saying they would command slightly higher prices in Cordova.
Lino was charged with two counts of misconduct involving controlled substances and one count of resisting arrest. He is being held at the Anchorage Jail on $50,000 cash bail, with a court-approved third-party custodian required for release.
