ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
It looks like the Anchorage Assembly will not hear a new fireworks proposal, which means no personal use of fireworks will be allowed for this year’s News Year’s celebration.
Assembly Chair Ernie Hall said that due to the Assembly's schedule for December 18 that Assembly Member Dick Traini told him he will pull his new fireworks ordinance.
Hall also said Traini told him a new fireworks ordinance will not be brought forward for a public hearing.
If the Assembly fails to take up the issue, then the ban will be in effect and Anchorage residents will not be allowed to set off fireworks inside the municipality.
