Alaska Flags Ordered to Half-Staff for Lawmaker Elton Engstrom, Jr.

Governor Sean Parnell has ordered state flags to be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, November 14 in honor of the late state lawmaker Elton Engstrom, Jr.

Engstrom served in the Alaska House of Representatives from 1965 - 1967 and the Alaska Senate from 1967 – 1971. According to the Governor’s office, his other titles also included author, fish-buyer, lawyer and property manager.

On Wednesday, November 6, Engstrom died at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife, two sons, daughter and four grandchildren.
