Just hours after the Anchorage Police Department turned to the public for help tracking down a hit-and-run suspect, the woman turned herself in.
Haily Ibarra, 20, is accused of colliding with a pedestrian outside a residence near the 5900 block of Mego Street shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday.
A woman was apparently speaking with Ibarra outside of the car, when the suspect began driving away. The victim was dragged, and police were informed the victim had been hanging onto the outside of the passenger door of the vehicle when it drove off.
The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It was reported to police that the suspect is the wife of someone who was staying at the victim’s residence, APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro said in an emailed response.
