ANCHORAGE -

One person has been arrested by police who responded to an armed robbery in a East Anchorage trailer park Wednesday, with officers still searching the area for a second suspect.

According to a statement from APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro, police were called at about noon to a residence at the Mayflower Trailer Court, on the 1000 block of Boniface Parkway.

“It was reported to police that two male suspects were seen fleeing the residence on foot,” Castro wrote. “One suspect was apprehended by police and officers are still searching for another possible suspect.”

Police found two victims of the robbery at the scene, with one treated for non-life-threatening injuries by medics.

A caller to Channel 2 reported seeing members of APD’s SWAT team in the area, along with an ambulance and numerous police vehicles.

Earlier Wednesday afternoon, APD had warned people via Twitter to avoid the area.

Castro confirms the presence of SWAT officers in the area, but says the incident was never a standoff.

“We have SWAT, we have K-9 officers there as we continue our investigation,” Castro said.

Castro says police haven’t released a description of the second suspect, but anyone with information on the robbery should call APD at 786-8900.
