ANCHORAGE -

An Anchorage man arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography last week may face more charges -- and investigators want to quickly identify any children who may have come in contact with him.

Detectives who investigate cyber crimes with the Anchorage Police Department are reviewing a couple hundred videos and more than 20,000 images. While police don't know if there are local victims, they are trying to find out.

On May 8, 30-year-old Gregory Russell Edwards was arrested for one count of distribution of child pornography and another count of possession. Computers were seized from his home in the 700 block of O Street in Anchorage.

Investigators are asking parents of children who have had direct or indirect contact with Edwards to contact them. The images and videos investigators say they found on Edward's computer have been sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for identification.

“Some of them are ones that we've seen in cases before this, and others we haven't seen yet, so that's our concern,” said Cyber Crimes Unit Detective Mark Thomas.

APD can be contacted at 786-8900. If there are local victims, investigators want to get those children and their families the services they need quickly.
