ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

Anchorage police have identified the 65-year-old man fatally struck in a Thursday vehicle-bicyclist collision on Northern Lights Boulevard.

According to APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro, next of kin notification has been completed for Eldridge Griffith. She previously said that his next of kin were out of the state and possibly outside the U.S.

Griffith was crossing Northern Lights, just west of its intersection with Minnesota Drive, at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by a gray Subaru. He was unconscious at the scene and medics took him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The collision closed two lanes of Northern Lights for a few hours as police investigated the incident. The collision remains under investigation, but Castro says no citations or charges have been issued in the crash as of Tuesday.
