Anchorage Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating an adult male who allegedly threatened a 15-year-old girl at knife point outside her home Thursday.
Police were notified by the female juvenile that the male had made threats to her while she was outside on her porch around 6 p.m. at a residence located on the 6000 block of Joseph Street.
According to police the suspect was unknown to the girl. The black male, possibly in his 20s, approached the female juvenile, held a knife to her throat and began to cut her clothing. Police say the female told investigators the suspect knew the victim’s name and other personal information about her.
“He was able to talk to her by name, but also knew where she went to school,” said APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro.
According to the investigator’s report, the suspect was startled by the sound of a car door closing, and fled the scene on foot toward Raspberry Road.
The suspect is described as approximately six-feet-tall with a thin build with dreadlocks with black rubber bands in his hair. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie and dark washed baggy blue jeans.
APD is asking anyone with information on the suspect or this incident to call police at 786-8900, and to press “0” to speak with a dispatcher. To submit a tip anonymously, please call Anchorage Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP or submit a tip online at www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
