The family of a missing boy and Anchorage police are seeking the public's help in locating him.

James Kochergin, 10, was last seen at his home on Snow View Drive near Lake Otis and 80th street around 10 a.m., police say. He may have his bycicle, and a blue backpack.

He is described as being 4'6" tall, and weighing roughly 100 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange hoodie, jeans, and black tennis shoes.

APD spokesperson said that as of 4:24 p.m., police were ready to begin using K-9 teams to search for the missing boy.

"It's been about 16 hours now," Castro said. "So you can imagine how worried we're getting at this point. We'd like his face out there so people can know him if they see him."
