ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

Anchorage police are asking for public help in identifying a man seen in surveillance video last week stealing a computer from a Midtown hotel.

In an email to Channel 2, APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro says images from the scene Thursday show the man walking into the guest office center of the Hilton Garden Inn, at 4555 Union Square Dr., near the intersection of Tudor Road and C Street.

“Surveillance video shows this man, whom police are trying to identify, enter the center during the afternoon and then leave with a computer and its accessories,” Castro wrote. “It does not appear that the male had been a guest at the hotel.”

Castro says the value of the stolen computer and equipment is estimated at $1,500.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity or the theft should call APD at 786-8900 or Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP. Tips can also be left online at Crime Stoppers’ website.
