Police are seeking a woman accused of a stabbing that happened Monday afternoon in Mountain View due to a disagreement over money.

Anchorage Police Department officers responded at about 5:30 p.m. to North Klevin Street, where a woman had been stabbed in the stomach.

When a caller made a report, the victim was on the way to a hospital to be treated for her injuries. Doctors performed surgery, and the victim is expected to survive.

The victim told police that 21-year-old Sharae Maynard owed her money and was meeting her at the corner of Klevin Street and Thompson Avenue to pay up. Something went wrong, and an altercation broke out that led to the stabbing.

Maynard is charged with first-degree assault.

Police ask anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call police at 786-8900 or if Maynard wishes to turn herself in that she contact police.
