ASD Says $44M in Scholarships Awarded to 2013 Graduates
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

A power outage in Chugiak and Eagle River is not enough to close the impacted schools, according to the Anchorage School District.

11 schools are without power and are now relying on generators and windows for exterior light.

But ASD said in a release that students and staff will remain at school throughout the day with activities going on as scheduled.

Only Eagle Academy Charter School is encouraging parents to pick up their children early if possible. Students at the school are, however, safe and will remain at school if parents are unable to pick them up early.
