A Nikiski woman was hospitalized Saturday after Alaska State Troopers say she “either fell or was thrown from” an all-terrain vehicle while descending a hill.

According to a Monday AST dispatch, troopers took a 911 call shortly before 12:30 p.m. Saturday regarding the injured woman, later identified as 54-year-old Barbara Ralston.

“Investigation revealed that Ralston was riding her ATV down a hill,” troopers wrote. “At the bottom of the hill, she lost control of the ATV and it went up on two wheels. Ralston either fell or was thrown from the ATV. The ATV went back on its four wheels and came to rest approximately 30 feet away.”

Troopers say Ralston was taken to a hospital, but didn’t immediately have details on her condition Monday.
