ANCHORAGE -

A mother and another family member were arrested for DUI and for endangering the welfare of a six year old, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers report stopping a REDDI vehicle at 10:43 p.m. Saturday near Mile 49 of the Parks Highway. The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Mallory Dahl, was discovered to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Further investigation revealed Dahl was in possession of methamphetamines. Yvonne Insalaco, 20 of Anchorage, was also found to be in possession of illicit drugs, which consisted of more than an ounce of marijuana.

The only other passenger in the vehicle was Dahl’s six year old son. Troopers called another family member of the child to pick him up. Yvonne Dahl, 59, arrived to claim the child, and was arrested by troopers on scene for also driving under the influence.

Insalaco was released at the scene after being issued a summons to appear on charges of possession, while both Dahls were remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on charges of DUI, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances. Mallory Dahl is being held on $4,000 bail, while Yvonne Dahl is being held on a bail of $500. Both 

The boy was handed over by troopers to the Office of Child Services. Both Dahls have a criminal history that includes other charges of DUI.
