One person was injured in a four-vehicle crash that temporarily closed Knik-Goose Bay Road Thursday afternoon, according to the Wasilla Police Department.

WPD Ofc. Rick Manrique says police responded to the crash, first reported at about 2:10 p.m. Thursday, near Mile 3.5 of the road. He calls the crash a chain-reaction collision, which ultimately involved two pickup trucks, a Ford Expedition SUV and a minivan.

The wreck apparently involved northbound traffic on the road which had stopped abruptly for a vehicle turning left onto Lakewood Drive.

One person received moderate non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

"With only two lanes, it was a mess," Manrique said.

Traffic was backed up about three miles on the road, but is open again Thursday afternoon.
