ANCHORAGE -

All lanes of the Glenn Highway have reopened after a rollover crash killed one person and trapped others inside a car near Eklutna shortly before noon Wednesday.

For reasons not immediately known to police, a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado rolled over several times and came to a rest on its roof in the median near Eklutna Flats around Mile 26 of the highway, according to Anchorage Police Department Sgt. Amanda Fischer. No other vehicles crashed.

All lanes of traffic temporarily closed while a helicopter landed to transport victims.

One person was transported by helicopter to a hospital with critical injuries, and two were taken by ambulance with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Outbound traffic on the highway was limited to one lane until the investigation was complete, with APD announcing lanes reopened at about 4:45 p.m.
