KOTZEBUE -

A  call about a missing Noorvik girl was interrupted by a local man pulling a .20 gauge shot gun on the responding Village Police Officer.

According to troopers, VPO Bobby Itta responded to a disturbance call in Noorvik involving a missing girl. Itta found the girl at the home of Roy Johnson, Jr., 21. Johnson fled the home with a shotgun, wherein Itta gave chase.

During the pursuit, Johnson turned the gun on Itta, at which point Itta stopped chasing him and returned to the girl, reports AST Spokeswoman Megan Peters.

Johnson was not immediately located, but Kotzebue troopers obtained an arrest warrant charging Johnson with Assault III and Misconduct Involving a Weapon IV, as reports say alcohol was involved.

Johnson was found and arrested without incident, and transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail. Bail is set at $15,000.
