Bikers met up with other mourners at the Anchorage City Church Friday to remember Elaine Loew.

Loew, along with fellow motorcyclists Jim and Sabrina Carlyle, was killed in a collision with a truck on the Glenn Highway Saturday night. Loew’s husband Paul survived the accident.

The incident took place hours after a “Bike Blessing” event in Anchorage. All three victims were members of the Alaska Harley Owners Group.

"We're contributing members of the community,” said group member Patti Bogan.  “When a biker goes down, when something happens we're there to contribute, whether it's money, or food, or our time, we're there to help."

Loew was an ambassador for the group, and had also been employed as a legal secretary for the Municipality of Anchorage.

“If we needed someone to show up and be there for some reason, gift wrapping at Christmas time, we do giftwrapping at the Harley shop, to be there to volunteer at a charity around town, Elaine was there,” Bogan said.

According to the Facebook page “Bike and Blessing,” a memorial service for Jim and Sabrina Carlyle will be held Saturday, May 17, at noon at the Church on the Rock in Wasilla.
