Iditarod musher Lance Mackey was arrested Saturday for violating his conditions of release after he was pulled over for speeding, troopers say.
Mackey was stopped by troopers on the Richardson Highway at 8:45 a.m., and was arrested for violating conditions of release in relation to a 2013 case that is still open.
According to court documents, Mackey was arrested June 6, 2013 for Driving Under the Influence and for refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test. Mackey was remanded to the Fairbanks Jail and released after posting a reduced bail of $2,500. Mackey was expected to appear in court again on Monday, April 7.
According to VineLink, Mackey was released Saturday after posting bail. His arraignment for this most recent incident is scheduled for Tuesday.
