Soldiers at JBER are engaging in live-fire training on base Friday.
The training is scheduled to use 105mm howitzers around 1 p.m. Friday. Soldiers will be firing weapon in order to "validate unit readiness in preparation for the brigade's upcoming Joint Readiness Training Center rotation" to Louisiana, a release from the base described.
This training will have "artillery rounds exploding in the impact area."
The training is part of a larger, brigade-wide operation focusing on readiness and preparation for the planned rotation of soldiers.
